Service Booking App
Serviq
An on-demand booking platform connecting customers with trusted local professionals — from choosing a service to paying for the job.
Serviq is a fictional product concept created by Programming Wizard to show how we plan and design apps. It is not a client project.

03The Challenge
The problem Serviq is designed to solve
Booking a plumber, electrician or cleaner usually means calling around, waiting for callbacks and accepting vague arrival windows. Customers can't compare providers, and good professionals struggle to show their reliability.
Serviq explores a marketplace where customers see real availability and verified reviews, providers manage their jobs from their phone, and the business keeps quality in check.
04Our Approach
How we would approach Serviq
A marketplace has to work for three groups at once — customers, providers and the business running it. We would map each group's workflow before designing a single screen.
User flow
Choose a service → compare providers → pick a date and time → pay → track the booking → rate the job.
Information architecture
Services are grouped into categories; each provider lists the services they offer, their prices, service area and weekly availability.
Navigation
Customers get four tabs — Home, Bookings, Messages, Profile. Providers get a separate, simpler app focused on today's jobs and earnings.
Business workflow
A booking request goes to the provider to accept, moves through 'on the way' and 'in progress', and closes with payment and a review.
Admin requirements
The business verifies providers, manages categories and commissions, handles payouts and steps in when a booking is disputed.
Room to grow
Categories, cities and commission rules are configurable, so the platform can grow from one city and a few services to many.
05Key Features
What the product does
The features a first version of Serviq would need — and why each one matters.
Service categories
Plumbing, electrical, cleaning, AC repair and more — each with clear starting prices.
Provider discovery
Compare nearby providers by rating, price and next available slot.
Provider profiles
Verified badge, services offered, experience and reviews.
Live availability
Only real open slots are shown, so customers can book without back-and-forth.
Booking
Pick a date and time, describe the job and confirm in a few taps.
Online payment
Pay in the app after the job, with digital receipts.
Booking status
Accepted, on the way, in progress, completed — with arrival updates.
Ratings & reviews
Customers rate each job, building trust in good providers.
Notifications
Confirmations, reminders and arrival alerts for customers and providers.
Provider dashboard
Accept jobs, manage availability and track earnings.

- 5Review

08Business Value
Why this product matters
What Serviq is designed to do for the business behind it.
- Makes finding a trusted professional easier

- Gives providers a digital storefront and job queue
- Centralises booking, payment and review management
- Builds trust through verification and ratings
These are intended product benefits of a concept, not measured results from a live app.

12From Concept to Production
How we would build it for real
We start with the business workflow, then turn the required features into a clear product scope, design the experience screen by screen, and build the first focused version around the most important user journey.
Step 1
Map the workflow
Understand how the business runs day to day.
Step 2
Define the scope
Turn requirements into a clear feature list.
Step 3
Design every screen
Plan the experience screen by screen.
Step 4
Build the first version
Launch around the most important journey.
