Fitness App
Fitora
A personal training and workout tracking app that keeps trainers and their clients connected between sessions.
Fitora is a fictional product concept created by Programming Wizard to show how we plan and design apps. It is not a client project.

03The Challenge
The problem Fitora is designed to solve
Personal trainers and gyms often run programs through spreadsheets, PDFs and chat groups. Clients lose track of what to do on their own, and trainers can't easily see who is keeping up.
Fitora explores one shared space for the trainer–client relationship: the trainer assigns the plan, the client logs every workout, and both can see progress without chasing each other on chat.
04Our Approach
How we would approach Fitora
We would design Fitora around two people at once — the member who needs to know exactly what to do today, and the trainer who needs to see how everyone is doing.
User flow
Open app → today's workout → follow each exercise and log sets → see progress → book the next session with the trainer.
Information architecture
Programs contain weeks, weeks contain workouts, and workouts reuse exercises from a shared library — so trainers build plans once and assign them to many members.
Navigation
Four tabs — Today, Schedule, Progress, Profile. 'Today' always opens on the next thing the member should do.
Business workflow
Trainers assign plans and check logged workouts in the dashboard, then adjust the next week or send feedback based on what the member actually did.
Admin requirements
Gym owners manage trainers, members, membership plans and renewals, while each trainer only sees their own clients.
Room to grow
Programs, memberships and scheduling are separate modules, so a solo trainer and a multi-trainer gym can use the same product.
05Key Features
What the product does
The features a first version of Fitora would need — and why each one matters.
Workout plans
Week-by-week programs assigned by the trainer to each member.
Exercise library
Short demo videos and form cues for every exercise in the plan.
Workout logging
Log sets, reps and weight in seconds, right from the workout screen.
Progress charts
Strength, body measurements and consistency shown as simple trends.
Trainer profiles
Specialisations, availability and session types for each trainer.
Nutrition guidance
Meal guidelines and daily targets shared by the trainer.
Workout scheduling
Book personal-training sessions and classes from available slots.

Workout reminders, session alerts and trainer feedback notifications.
Membership plans
Monthly or quarterly plans with renewals and payment history.
Trainer dashboard
See every client's activity, adjust plans and send feedback.
06User Journey
How it works
The core journey we would design Fitora around, from first visit to coming back.
- 1Join
Choose a plan
Pick a membership and get matched with a trainer.
- 2Plan
Get a program
The trainer assigns a week-by-week workout plan.
- 3Train
Follow & log
Follow today's workout and log every set in the app.
- 4Track
See progress
Charts show strength, measurements and streaks over time.
- 5Adjust
Trainer feedback
The trainer reviews progress and updates next week's plan.
07Key Screens
The screens that matter most
Concept mockups of the most important screens in the journey. Swipe to see them all on mobile.
08Business Value
Why this product matters
What Fitora is designed to do for the business behind it.
- Keeps workouts, plans and progress in one place
- Makes trainer–client communication easier
- Encourages consistent engagement between sessions
- Supports structured, repeatable fitness programs
- Helps trainers manage more clients without more admin
These are intended product benefits of a concept, not measured results from a live app.
09Design Direction
Designed for how people actually use it
Fitora is built to be used mid-workout: large tap targets, high-contrast numbers and one clear action per screen. The calm green palette keeps it motivating without feeling noisy.

Glanceable
Sets, reps and weight are readable at arm's length, between sets.
One next step
Every screen answers 'what do I do now?' — the current exercise is always highlighted.
Progress as motivation
Small wins like streaks and personal bests are surfaced, not buried in reports.

12From Concept to Production
How we would build it for real
We start with the business workflow, then turn the required features into a clear product scope, design the experience screen by screen, and build the first focused version around the most important user journey.
Step 1
Map the workflow
Understand how the business runs day to day.
Step 2
Define the scope
Turn requirements into a clear feature list.
Step 3
Design every screen
Plan the experience screen by screen.
Step 4
Build the first version
Launch around the most important journey.
